Ever since I studied architecture I’ve loved drawing​.​ ​Especially shading, creating depth and layers by applying many small lines​ and scribbles. I’ve tried to recreate this same effect with my sewing machine. This gives all the artworks in the SUN series a unique touch, texture, and added depth.

RISE . dark ocean is made of upholstery fabric cut-offs over which a pattern is stitched with a sewing machine. Because the stitching is hand-embroidered, each ​RISE is unique.
Size: 24 x ​30 cm, framed in a plain wooden box frame.
