‘Kunst-stof’ can be translated as ‘art-fabric’, textile art. Because my biggest dream is to create art with different types of media, this name wasn’t sufficient anymore. Now that I am working under my own name (again), I feel free to go in any direction my curiosity will lead me. I love working with beautiful, high-end textiles. The way it’s been woven, the tactility and softness of the fabric attracts me like a girl in a candy store. For my art I use the cut-offs from furniture manufacturers that are just too small for them to use but still brand new and absolutely stunning. At first glance the art is graphic and abstract, but the rich, textured fabric gives the art softness and brings warmth to the space. Stretching the textile like a canvas makes the lines come to life.
I do have a soft spot for simple shapes and contrast. Simplicity with depth. The tactility and texture of the fabric is in beautiful balance with the graphic lines of the artwork. In addition, the textile panels improve the acoustics, making the room cozier and warmer.
It is always a pleasure to create personalized pieces of art. That tells your story. In a personal conversation I will empathize with someone’s personality and style. I love to hear what makes you happy. When you feel like your best self. Your input and energy will be translated in an abstract, unique design. The art will be unique and stand alone, but will also blend into the space in terms of color, size and design.
